Overview

It was contested by 20 teams, and Fenerbahçe S.K. won the championship. Samsunspor were involved in a tragic bus accident during the season . Many of the team's players and coaches were killed , for this reason, they were unable to play their last 18 matches . All these matches were awarded 3-0 default win for Samsunspor's opponents. Samsunspor were , however , not relegated at the end of the season.
